QA Inspector - Day Shift

About the role

Day Shift — Monday–Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Responsibilities

• Floor QA:
  • Create inspection record templates; pull samples, quality alerts, and required documents for upcoming jobs per production schedule and QMS procedures.
  • Provide quality support during job start-ups and perform first-piece inspection and approval in a timely manner.
  • Perform in-process sample inspections per inspection plans and record results on inspection records.
  • Manage all part samples related to jobs on the production floor, including pulling, creating, and returning to storage.
  • Document non-conforming products by opening NCRs per QMS procedures.
  • Support production machine operators and team members on product quality questions.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of all floor QA documentation throughout production.
  • Provide support for customer-specified SPC as required.
• Final Audit:
  • Perform AQL sample final inspections per inspection plans and QMS procedures.
  • Perform AQL sample receiving inspections for all items used in manufacturing per QMS procedures.
  • Verify that incoming items have certifications and that certifications are scanned and associated correctly for retrieval.
  • Create and supply all Certificates of Compliance per customer requirements, including material certifications and inspection data as required.
  • Ensure all required final and receiving inspection records are complete and accurate per QMS procedures.
  • Backup and assist with floor inspections when workload permits or team members are absent.
  • Backup and assist with secondary final inspections when workload permits or team members are absent.
  • Document non-conforming products by opening NCRs per QMS procedures.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality Assurance or inspection role in a manufacturing environment.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and completing all required duties consistently.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experienced in good manufacturing practices and quality initiatives and programs.
• Some experience with QMS systems including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS9100.
• Ability to develop and maintain a team-oriented work environment.
• Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes.
• Physically capable of frequently lifting boxes up to 30 lbs.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a consistent pace in a fast-moving production environment.
• Experience with computers and software such as Microsoft Office or inspection-related software.
• Experience with engineering part drawings related to part geometry, dimensions & tolerances, drawing views, and interpretation of requirements.
• Proficient use of hand-held measuring instruments: micrometers, height gauges, calipers, indicators, and optical comparator.
• Knowledge and interpretation skills regarding the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
• Working knowledge of inspecting techniques and testing procedures.
