QA Inspector
Responsibilities
- Support SPX Values-Integrity, Accountability, Excellence, Teamwork, Results to meet company and customer expectations.
- Maintain daily Quality Inspection workflow and RMA’s and other duties to meet the company’s set metrics.
- Conducts inspection and electrical testing to assure the quality of the product or component meets requirements.
- Where required, that the product meets military standards, agency standards, or special drawing/specification requirements.
- Performs evaluation of returned goods from customers.
- Works with manufacturing to determine disposition of returned goods.
- Documents the data obtained during all quality activities and securely maintain records consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards, including UL, CSA, and military standards.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
- Affords assistance with issues with testing and measurement equipment.
- Affords assistance in trouble shooting and verification of product issues when failures are identified, both internally and with customers.
- Reviews purchased products or components requiring incoming quality inspection and determines acceptability of the product to specifications.
- Where required, assures the product meets military standards, agency standards or special drawing/specification requirements.
- Maintains certification records for purchased products as required.
- Documents vendor non-conformances and provides input to the decision to accept product and future purchases from a vendor.
- Supports field service requests as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality control or related field.
Must have strong attention to detail and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have basic knowledge of electrical systems and components.
Must have experience with quality inspection and testing procedures.
Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
