Essential Accountabilities
- Counsults and investigates nonconforming events and product on the converting lines as they occur.
- Isolates and rejects non-conforming product and materials; conducts JDE hold transactions as required.
- Sends information to QA management to initiate non-conforming investigation as needed.
- Assists with non-conformance investigations as directed.
- Generates Exceptions and Substitutions for night/weekend shifts under direction of QA Manager.
- Assists in rework activities to ensure product safety, quality, and traceability is maintained.
- Ensures GMP, product safety, and quality requirements are maintained and communicates customer requirements.
- Provides on-line quality support during first production runs.
- Performs monthly internal audits on various areas including converting, warehouse, distribution center, restrooms, maintenance area, breakroom, labs, and exterior of building.
- Makes COAs/COCs entries in Supplier Central.
- Takes chemical samples and collects sanitation swabs as needed.
- Maintains inventory in the QA Cage.
- Reviews and performs metal detector and balance verification tests on a regular basis.
- Verifies First Articles, line clearing, and product changeovers.
- Performs beginning of shift and changeover quality checks on all production lines.
Qualification Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required plus 2 years’ manufacturing, quality or related experience.
- Previous experience in a quality assurance role preferred.
- Proficient in JD Edwards and Agile with the ability to complete QA functions in the system.
- Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Must be able to communicate face-to-face and over the phone.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing/walking.
- Occasional sitting, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling and reaching.
- Repetitive hand and foot movement.
- Work environment includes occasional noise >85db, hot and cold temperatures.
- Requires ability to read, write, calculate and analyze.
- Requires good visual acuity with depth perception and color vision.
