About the Role
We're seeking a functional QA engineer who tests the entire system, not just isolated changes. The ideal candidate will think critically about edge cases, explore system boundaries, and understand how changes ripple from source systems through to reporting and downstream systems. This role is 100% onsite at our Scottsdale corporate headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Test applications end-to-end, validating full workflows rather than isolated changes.
- Test across web applications, our mobile app, and client-facing customer portals to ensure a consistent experience across all channels.
- Validate data integrity in Snowflake, reconciling data from source systems through transformations to reporting and downstream consumers.
- Incorporate basic security testing into functional workflows, validating authentication, authorization, and access controls, and flagging data-exposure risks (especially important in financial services).
- Think critically about edge cases and probe the system's boundaries and failure points.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, comprehensive test cases.
- Analyze the impact of changes and new features across the full data path, from source system through reporting and downstream systems.
- Perform standard QA duties for web-based applications (test planning, execution, defect tracking, regression).
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Snowflake, including writing queries to validate and reconcile data.
- Proficiency with Chrome DevTools.
- Experience testing REST APIs (e.g., Postman).
- Experience testing mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web-based customer portals.
- Experience with a test management/defect tracking tool (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).
- Experience in the financial services industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with core technologies such as Java and Selenium.
- Awareness of common application security risks (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
- Experience in wealth management specifically.
- Exposure to reporting/BI validation and data reconciliation.
Benefits
- $113,000 to $142,000 base salary plus bonus.
- 401(k) with a matching contribution up to 13%.
- United Healthcare PPO medical coverage for employees, paid by the company.
- Delta Dental PPO, United Healthcare Vision, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, and many more voluntary options.
- Generous holidays and PTO.
- Future career growth opportunities.
