QA Engineer

About the role

InfoPay is seeking a QA Engineer familiar with Web Applications who understands logic and algorithms through programming languages, including but not limited to JavaScript and PHP. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing code and be comfortable working in a Scrum environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the product life cycle, specifically in the QA portion of the cycle.
• Understand code changes and their potential ramifications.
• Apply knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve the efficiency of product and task life cycles.
• Translate backend logic to frontend user experience.
• Think critically about core and seemingly inconsequential code changes.
• Work closely with software developers to perform early testing on components prior to integration builds.
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
• Perform thorough code reviews.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in the QA field.
• 2+ years of experience reviewing code.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Firm understanding of programming logic and languages, especially PHP.
• Ability to manage multiple unrelated products/tasks simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with an understanding of scope, scope creep, and ramifications of core code changes.
• Familiarity with customer interaction and experience due to code changes (backend or frontend).
• Strong knowledge of QA techniques, methodologies, testing tools, and processes.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Ability to perform manual testing across multiple devices (iPhone, iPad, laptop, desktop), operating systems (Windows, OSX), and browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, IE).
