QA Engineer

We support fellow Veteran-Owned businesses by helping them recruit for positions across organizations such as the VA, SBA, HHS, DARPA, and other leading-edge R&D-focused defense agencies.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the quality and reliability of software applications through meticulous testing procedures for a global leader in lottery and gaming solutions. The ideal candidate is a Jefferson City resident with 1 to 5 years of manual testing experience, proficiency with JIRA, JMETER, and POSTMAN, and a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field. ISTQB certification and gaming domain knowledge are highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the project team to understand software requirements and design comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of the application.
• Develop detailed and well-organized test cases based on functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Execute manual test cases to identify defects, verify fixes, and ensure the overall quality of the software.
• Perform both functional and non-functional testing.
• Clearly document and report defects, including detailed steps to reproduce, to facilitate efficient communication with developers.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and resolve any issues that arise during the testing process.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation, including test cases, test results, and other relevant artifacts.
• Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Provide feedback on ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the testing lifecycle.
• Effectively communicate testing progress, results, and any potential risks to project stakeholders.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience as a Functional Tester or in a similar role.
• 1 to 5 years of manual testing experience.
• 1 to 5 years of automated testing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent academic QA experience).
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies.
• Good understanding of system integrations and architecture.
• Proficiency in creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies.
• Good understanding of JIRA and Dashboard creations to showcase the right KPIs.
• Ability to read and write basic API workflows using JMETER or POSTMAN tools.
• Ability to read and interpret logs.

Qualifications

• Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB).
• Knowledge in the gaming domain.

Pay

$35.00 - $40.00 hourly (W-2).
