QA Engineer 1
About the role
The QA Engineer 1 plays a crucial role in ensuring quality and compliance across various projects in construction, engineering, manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors. Reporting to an upper level QA Engineer, this role collaborates with Preconstruction Managers and Project Managers to develop and implement QA/QC plans and documents. Responsibilities include creating data sets, documenting equipment installations, conducting field surveys, and providing support during the QA/QC process.
Responsibilities
- Create relational data sets such as equipment list, equipment group, feeders, feeder schedule, and commissioning class from project construction drawings, electrical specifications, and submittals.
- Develop detailed procedures and checklists to document equipment installation according to specifications.
- Assist in establishing and training for generating field data and systems.
- Conduct field surveys, collect, and enter data to ensure installations meet applicable standards and customer requirements.
- Provide support material or reports to Project Managers as needed.
- Document installations that conform to applicable standards and customer requirements.
- Support field QA/QC activities through research and addressing needs during the QA/QC process.
- Provide guidance to office and field teams to ensure construction activities comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
- Inspect completed installations to verify conformance to design, code, and equipment specifications.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, or Associate of Applied Science Degree.
- Experience: 5 years of hands-on field commissioning experience and a demonstrated aptitude for effective documentation.
- Skills: Proficient in using a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, good interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication, understanding of one-lines, schematics & drawings, knowledge of electrical terminology and components, and knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
