QA Coordinator - Lab (CA)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates leadership through accountability and collaboration in daily activities.
• Consistently demonstrates a high level of initiative and problem-solving ability.
• Collaborates with management to implement standardization and process improvement within the department.
• Facilitates internal and external audits.
• Coordinates internal and external proficiency testing activities.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable related activities.
• Supports, implements and ensures compliance of all department and company Quality Assurance / Quality Control related policies.
• Performs department Quality Control.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4-5 years’ progressive experience as a scientist/medical technologist in a clinical laboratory which includes at least 2-4 years of high complexity testing and associated methodologies for the applicable position being applied for as a California State Licensed or Limited License Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
• Physical and mental requirements: lifting and carrying objects up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds rarely; ability to sit and/or stand for long periods; good eye and hand coordination.
• Skills: communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, strong typing skills, automation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or other life or physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
• A current California State Limited License to perform laboratory testing in the applicable specialty.
• Current State Clinical Laboratory Scientist license if necessary (e.g., California).
