QA Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
Reporting to Quality & Food Safety Supervisor, the Quality Assurance Compliance Specialist-Regulatory Compliance develops, coordinates and implements quality compliance programs for all current programs and customers. Act as the Quality subject matter expert (SME) with Regulatory and Certification Agencies, customers and suppliers. This position manages actions and decisions involving audits, escalations, or other significant quality events. Assures appropriate processes, controls, resources, training and qualifications are in place and effective to ensure a sound compliance profile for the Company in support of current and future business needs. Management of the Quality team to drive continuous improvements in quality, food safety and issue management. This role also provides coaching, feedback and to the Quality team.
Position Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of optimal monitoring and compliance program results against appropriate performance metrics (systems, processes, procedures and activities).
- Report on Quality metrics to monitor the quality of processes and guide quality improvement.
- Maintain a corporate culture which supports employee and client satisfaction.
- Escalate risks to Senior Management. Advises management on changes to corporate and government requirements.
- Responsible for the preparation of the Quality System Management Review presentation to provide regular updates regarding the compliance status and performance.
- Manages regulatory inspections and external audits via preparation, hosting, audit responses and implementing corrective actions as appropriate. Reporting of results to management.
- Manages the internal audit program to monitor compliance with corporate and government requirements.
- Yearly Responsible for ensuring that associates follow all company guidelines related to Quality and Regulatory Compliance.
- Manages the Quality performance of suppliers through audits and Quality System reviews.
- Tracks and provides key performance indicators (KPIs) / metrics to facilitate the review of ongoing quality performance.
- Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.
- Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition Science or Regulatory Affairs is required.
- Two (2) years of previous experience in a Regulatory Compliance role required.
- Strong understanding of Regulatory Compliance landscape (FDA and USDA) for North America, and as well as foundational understanding of regulatory compliance landscape of international markets.
- A team player with well‐developed “people interaction” skill set.
- Strong system skills, including the ability to work with MS Office (specifically excel), SAP (specifically ECP and RD), and Genesys.
- Proactive and performance driven, have a bias for action and be able to work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment, with multiple projects and multiple deadlines.
