QA Bench Technician NV

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, maintain SQF certification through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and maintain good housekeeping to be inspection-ready at all times.
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards and systems to monitor food safety, food safety culture, quality, and facility cleanliness.
• Test each batch for acid, salt, viscosity, and color to ensure specifications are met; provide corrections for any out-of-specification batches.
• Test filler before each line start-up.
• Test finished product for acid, salt, viscosity, and color every hour.
• Inspect labels, codes, and weights on finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Put products on hold that do not meet specifications.
• Collect samples for shelf-life and micro-plating.
• Calibrate acid and salt titrators daily.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Produce product free of contamination.
• Follow all Ken’s Foods Security and GMP policies.
• Report any suspicious activities anywhere in or around the plant.
• Continuously inspect work area for any possible product contamination issues.

Requirements

• Ability to stand regularly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
• Frequent walking, reaching with hands and arms, and tasting or smelling.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment.
• No mental or physical impairments that could adversely affect the ability to safely and competently perform duties.
• Ability to take prompt and appropriate responses to operating conditions.

Work Environment

The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
