QA Automation Engineer

About the role

We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer to lead and elevate quality across our SaaS platform and its expanding suite of AI-driven capabilities. In this role, you will help drive quality across our engineering teams by designing and implementing scalable automated testing solutions, focusing primarily on API testing with additional responsibility for end-to-end UI testing. You'll work in an AI-native environment where fluency with AI coding tools is essential to shipping fast without sacrificing quality. You will collaborate closely with developers and product teams to analyze requirements, design automated test cases, and ensure high levels of test coverage and reliability. This role involves architecting and implementing scalable test frameworks, driving our automation strategy, and ensuring robust, reliable releases.

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain, and scale automated test code for the full stack, APIs, and data validation using modern testing frameworks
• Collaborate with product managers, actuaries, UX designers, and other engineers to design and implement automated UI tests, API tests, and performance monitoring tests to validate new features and detect regressions in existing features
• Own the QA automation lifecycle and continuously enhance the automation infrastructure
• Manage and monitor both automated and manual test execution to support continuous delivery

Requirements

• 2-7 years of experience in QA Automation
• Strong programming skills and hands-on experience writing automation code (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar)
• Proven experience using automation frameworks for UI testing, such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate QA work — generating test cases, writing automation code, and analyzing test failures
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, build and release tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• A critical eye for implementing shift-left and value-over-volume QA philosophies
• Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving skills, and an analytical mindset
• Prior healthcare experience is a plus
• Startup experience is a plus

Pay

$140,000 - $160,000 a year
