QA Automation Engineer Advanced
We have a unique opportunity for a QA Automation Engineer to work on a highly visible, multi-year project within the Treasury Retail Investment Manager (TRIM) Department. The team is comprised of multiple Agile development teams, as well as program staff. This position requires a regular on-site presence and is open only to U.S. citizens.
About the role
In this role, you will serve as an advisor and be accountable for managing the QA team’s daily testing progress, work with the product team to overcome challenges, provide guidance to QA team members, and communicate QA’s release status. You will also oversee test automation frameworks, develop testing strategies, mentor junior testers, and align quality metrics with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical work direction for other team members in an open, positive, and collaborative manner.
- Mentor and coach the team to improve the skills and talent within the organization.
- Lead as a technical advisor and expert in the analysis, design, test, and delivery of technology solutions and implement comprehensive software quality assurance strategies across the 9th District and/or Federal Reserve System.
- Collaborate with business areas to identify application development solutions, enhance new or existing applications, and integrate purchased or System solutions to meet business requirements.
- Document, analyze, and test to resolve problems in collaboration with the product delivery team.
- Implement solutions and provide ongoing maintenance, training, and support.
- Assist in responding to audit reviews and findings for existing applications/software.
- Lead development, review, and execution of test plans, test scripts, and test data to ensure application products and services meet business needs, quality standards, and end-user/non-functional requirements.
- Provide technical consultations and analysis on all phases of application programming and processes for diverse development platforms and computing environments, including evaluating the organization’s IT platforms/infrastructure with the highest potential for cloud deployment.
- Lead research, evaluate, and recommend solutions, identify ways to reuse existing code, and design prototypes using current or emerging technologies.
- Participate in technology initiative projects of moderate to high complexity, which may include new development, purchased solutions, and other automation efforts.
- Contribute to the implementation of cloud services and integrations with in-house applications and systems.
- Provide technical training, information, and expertise to other automation and business area staff and management, as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across the team and with leadership.
- Advanced knowledge of software quality and engineering processes, test automation best practices, building and testing frameworks.
- Advanced knowledge of multiple software development methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, and Behavior-driven development.
- Ability to work effectively in an Enterprise Agile and DevOps team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with creative thinking and ability to work on abstract concepts.
Pay
Full salary range for this role: $122,300 - $152,830 - $183,400. Salary offer will be based on qualifications/experience of the candidate, alignment with market data, the needs of the position, our total compensation package, and internal equity.
