Responsibilities
- Accountable for executing and driving mid-size feature application design and development efforts to completion.
- Serving as a development lead on medium-scale projects and supporting the execution of larger efforts.
- Operating with considerable autonomy and discretion, significantly influencing the way an application is designed and developed.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting coding, application performance, and design challenges.
- Researching root causes of development and performance concerns and resolving defects.
- Understanding technical requirements for the solutions being built.
- Understanding engineering needs including those required to build, maintain, and operate the system through all phases of its life.
- Having a deep understanding of information modeling, data structures, and algorithms.
- Understanding maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, and dependencies that exist in support of your system’s software.
- Knowing the technical requirements for the solutions being built.
- Participating in design discussions as a Development Lead and playing the part of a key decision maker in driving design decisions.
- Partnering with industry vendors that provide technology or user experience design components that support our Digital architecture and working with vendors on our implementation plans and roadmaps, identifying partnership opportunities to increase our development velocity and our learnings.
- Participating in the full development life cycle, identifying dependencies between agile and waterfall delivery, working within broadly defined parameters, including test plan execution and software quality needs.
- Influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel, or provided services.
- Communicating progress, anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, identifying, assessing, tracking, and mitigating issues/risks at multiple levels.
- Recognizing discordant views and participating in constructive dialog to resolve them.
- Working across teams to optimize processes.
- Regularly reviewing metrics and proactively seeking out new and improved mechanisms for visibility ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives.
- Continuously assessing development processes, test plans, and operations.
- Streamlining and/or eliminating excess process in any area of architecture, build, delivery, production operations environment, or business area where the same efforts (or issues) are repeated year-over-year.
- Sharing knowledge with the team in various forums (brown bags, engineering forums etc.) and demonstrating a higher level of knowledge through industry certifications.
- Appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years in a product development/product management environment.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; data-driven and results-oriented.
- Experience delivering with an agile methodology.
- Experience in affecting large culture change.
- Experience leading infrastructure programs.
- Skilled at working with third-party service providers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Expertise in building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Strong knowledge on asynchronous modules such as asyncio, aiohttp etc.
- Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
- Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Added Skills (Good to Have)
- Experience in building Generative AI based solutions.
- Experience in building solutions based on MCP and RAG based architecture.
- Knowledge on Prompt Engineering, various techniques to build effective prompts.
- Familiarity with Vector stores such as FAISS, PgVector, Pinecone.
- Exposure to AI-ML frameworks (e.g., LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
