About the role
The Dismantler is responsible for properly removing high-valued auto parts and usable core parts in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle and remove cores, wiring harness, and O2 sensors from engines.
- Assist in removing and setting vehicles in the retail yard.
- Assist other crush pad workers as needed.
- Operate forklift and load trucks as required.
- Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
- Meet productivity guidelines.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with established company policies and procedures.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Hands-on automotive repair experience.
- Completion of required training.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to communicate orally and write brief messages or keep simple records.
- Ability to follow standard procedures with minimal decision-making.
- Must be able to use hand and electric tools.
Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or sitting for extended periods.
- Exposure to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment.
- Work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles, requiring awkward positions.
- Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Exposure to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
- Frequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Rare travel may be required, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
