PYP Automotive Dismantler

About the role

The Dismantler is responsible for properly removing high-valued auto parts and usable core parts in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and remove cores, wiring harness, and O2 sensors from engines.
• Assist in removing and setting vehicles in the retail yard.
• Assist other crush pad workers as needed.
• Operate forklift and load trucks as required.
• Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
• Meet productivity guidelines.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Comply with established company policies and procedures.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Hands-on automotive repair experience.
• Completion of required training.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate orally and write brief messages or keep simple records.
• Ability to follow standard procedures with minimal decision-making.
• Must be able to use hand and electric tools.

Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.

Work Environment

• Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or sitting for extended periods.
• Exposure to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment.
• Work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles, requiring awkward positions.
• Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Exposure to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
• Frequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Rare travel may be required, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
