PV Solar Field Technician Intermediate Level - Mondu Solar: Baton Rouge, LA

This position sits within the Power Generation Division, responsible for all of NextEra Energy's non-nuclear generation operations, exceeding 40,000 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity. Based in the Baton Rouge, LA area, the intended employee will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar PV collection assemblies, battery energy storage, and AC/DC inverters across multiple solar power plants to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform reliability engineering and warranty management
• Conduct operation and basic maintenance of solar power plant equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, power electronics, and mechanical systems
• Maintain safety and environmental program stewardship
• Supervise NEE employees and contractors
• Manage business duties and inventory
• Operate heavy equipment
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Maintain tools, shops, vehicles, and work locations in safe and efficient condition
• Perform daily inspections for fluid system breaches, mechanical component breakage or misalignment, and electrical component failures
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Graduate / GED
• 1+ years of relevant experience
• Valid Driver’s License (Non-CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade School Graduate
• Licensed Electrician or Licensed Master Electrician
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
