PV Solar Field Tech Principal (Travel Position)

About the role

The PV Solar Field Tech Principal position is a travel-based role supporting NextEra Energy's solar projects across New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. The ideal candidate will reside in the Belen, NM area to accommodate a 50-75% travel schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventative maintenance and repair on solar and energy storage power generation equipment
• Complete advanced electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Maintain all company-supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling
• Apply advanced understanding of technical and process functions including leadership competencies
• Serve as a safety champion for the fleet
• Coach new technicians on safety, solar and energy storage systems
• Serve as a qualified reliever in the absence of site management
• Lead teams in Quality Improvement (QI) projects
• Provide oversight to other personnel and act as a Safety Mentor
• Complete special projects or complex task assignments

Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED
• Experience: 4+ years
• Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade School Graduate
• Licensed Electrician
• Licensed Master Electrician
• Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
