About the role

As a Purification Product Specialist, you will act as the liaison between all North American and global commercial teams to drive our purification revenue. This position collaborates and oversees the development and implementation of product strategy, support, and product roadmaps for all chromatography products to support business expansion with new customers and markets. You will work closely with global commercial teams (sales, marketing, and product management) to develop product and sales strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sales team by providing chromatography and purification-related product information, including developing technical information and presentations, creating product recommendations for customer applications, researching competitor product comparisons, and developing applications to support sales strategy.
  • Provide guidance and support in developing and implementing sales strategies and plans to expand business with new customers within assigned territory, aligning with product vision to achieve targets, market growth, and customer acquisition.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of the flash, prep, and evaporation markets, their trends, and competitors in North America.
  • Work with a cross-functional team of suppliers and internal resources (sales, engineering, marketing) to align and bring solutions to market that meet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the North American sales team and VP of North American Sales to design and deliver customer-centric sales training to support sales strategy.
  • Serve as a technical expert to support the sales process and provide product demonstrations as needed.
  • Work with product managers to create and implement customer-centric sales training and maintain North American price lists.
  • Support the development and launch of new products to ensure regional needs are met and provide feedback on products, market dynamics, and competitive changes to product management.
  • Work with marketing to create content supporting the marketing of solutions, present posters and talks at select conferences, and create and execute webinars as an expert or in collaboration with customers/key opinion leaders.
  • Work with customer support to expand and solidify their product knowledge, communicate changes in product features and availability, and establish customer training guidelines and protocols for purification instrumentation.
  • Actively seek customer and marketing data as a source for product alignment and innovation.
  • Act as an internal and external product champion for assigned products—be the "one-stop-shop" for all information on the product line.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization, adapt to changing market conditions, and effectively communicate product and market information to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BS in Chemistry or a closely related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of chromatographic techniques and hands-on experience in flash and preparative chromatography purification and mass spectrometry.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience with product management and technical support preferred.
  • Solid decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex problems and propose solutions to external customers and internal team members.
  • Team-oriented with a customer satisfaction mindset; innovative, creative, and organized.
  • Ability to simplify and articulate complex, technical topics for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to partner collaboratively with geographically distributed teams across EMEA and US time zones.
  • Willingness to travel in support of sales efforts, meetings, and tradeshows (estimated 20-30% overnight travel).
