Purchasing/Procurement Agent

Position Summary The Dodge Company is seeking a Purchasing/Procurement Agent to join our team in Billerica, MA. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing setting, a strong understanding of merchandising procedures and retail accounting, as well as strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office and centralized merchandise/inventory management systems. This is a full-time onsite position Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The salary range for this position is $25 to $28 per hour. Job Responsibilities Accurately complete placement of purchase ordersMonitor the open order reportCommunicate with vendors regarding samples, shipping, vendor compliance, problem resolution, and RMA authorization Strategize, analyze, and resolve inventory issues and problems related the vendor performanceWork in co-operation with appropriate corresponding departments on product training, invoicing, billing and vendor termsExecute the department's price changes, item creation, and maintenanceAct as a customer service liaison assisting with general merchandise questions, item status, and catalog corrections/errorsProvide analysis of sales, turns and gross margins on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basisParticipate in local vendor presentations to gain an understanding of the product and current market trendsAdditional duties as assigned Qualifications / Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication skillsProblem analysis and problem solvingStrong organizational skillsRetail math skillsExcellent computer skillsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple projectsAbility to manage work relationships in a professional mannerReasoning and judgmentAdaptabilityTeam workStress toleranceReliabilityFlexibilityHigh school diploma or equivalency Additional Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with purchasing drop ship and/or stocked merchandiseExperience with Odoo and/or SAPExpert with Microsoft Excel PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and talk, hear and see.
