Purchasing Manager {SE}

About the role

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing materials, managing inventory levels, and optimizing inventory levels for both production/customer needs and cash flow.

Responsibilities

• Develop a long-term Purchasing strategy to ensure current process is scalable and flexible to support company growth.
• Meet with key vendors, source new vendors, negotiate price reductions, track inventories of key items and recommend timely purchases.
• Establish outsourcing opportunities
• Manage supplier relations and negotiating contracts, pricing agreements, timelines, etc.
• Contract implementation - including developing and negotiations of agreements working with other necessary stakeholders.
• Lead continuous improvement to drive meaningful changes in process, supplier or material to deliver value beyond price.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders to secure products and/or services as required.
• Evaluate and implement orders where needed.
• Cook up with internal and external customers regarding purchase requirements following corporate procurement guidelines.
• Manage a team which processes and place purchase orders, track receipt of orders, approve invoices.
• Cook up with various stakeholders to determine and manage inventory needs.
• Other duties as required.

Required Experience/ Education

• High School diploma required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Requires understanding of purchasing practices and use of accounting
