Purchasing Manager - Hybrid

About the Role

The Purchasing Manager oversees the acquisition of goods and services essential for the company’s operations. This role involves managing purchasing processes and team members, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring purchases meet the company’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements. The Purchasing Manager ensures policies, procedures, and daily tasks are structured to deliver positive results for the 200+ e-commerce stores hosted by Overture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for the Purchasing Team and ensure smooth workflow.
• Review daily reorder searches to analyze information and make purchase decisions for various company webstores.
• Place purchase orders in NetSuite, work with vendors to ensure receipt, and follow up through delivery to Overture’s warehouse.
• Collaborate with sales to develop special ordering rules for specific clients and account for promotions or seasonal buying patterns in product reorders.
• Coordinate with internal and external decorators to ensure Purchase Orders are processed per Overture’s instructions.
• Work with stakeholders on item reordering needs, update reorder searches (e.g., marking discontinued items, setting up new items).
• Serve as a liaison between upper management and team members.
• Identify operational issues and implement solutions promptly.
• Manage purchasing for Key accounts and large revenue sales departments.
• Provide leadership, training, and development to a team of purchasing assistants or coordinators.
• Delegate daily tasks to Coordinators/Jr. Coordinators and act as an escalation point for the team.
• Serve as the primary contact for new webstore launches, ensuring target milestones and launch dates are met.
• Handle new item creation, SKU management, and item updates for key accounts and large revenue sales departments.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and feedback.
• Set performance targets and monitor staff progress toward objectives.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies and update SOPs and documentation.
• Complete and respond to various purchasing requests and complex situations.
• Coordinate meetings with assigned sales teams and departments as needed.
• Work closely with sales and operations to resolve issues (e.g., backorders, stock issues, inventory transfers).
• Provide ad-hoc reporting to sales and clients regarding inventory levels and item movement.
• Pull advanced reporting independently and modify existing reports (e.g., adding filters or columns).
• Manage inventory movement between in-house and outside decoration.
• Communicate regularly with Senior Management on reordering processes, operational challenges, and suggested improvements.
• Collaborate with Webstore Development, Item Changes, Customer Service, Sales, and the Webstore Program Manager to stay updated on projects and solve problems.
• Perform additional tasks delegated by Upper Management, as workflow demands.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant purchasing experience.
• 2+ years of promo industry experience.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Critical thinking ability and strong analytical skills for order evaluation.
• Strong initiative, confidence, and ability to ask questions as needed.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional and courteous interaction with internal and external customers.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and advanced MS Excel skills.

Pay

$60,000–$75,000 annually
