Purchasing Manager Duties And Responsibilities
- Source and order commercial cleaning supplies, equipment, and chemicals.
- Compare vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and issue purchase orders.
- Manage the full-cycle purchasing process.
- Assist in recommending improvements to current processes and procedures.
- Track shipments and ensure timely, accurate delivery.
- Maintain proper stock levels based on sales needs.
- Support inventory counts and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage backorders and product substitutions.
- Manage relationships with vendors and distributors.
- Monitor pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
- Resolve product or supply issues.
- Work with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams on product needs.
- Assist with demand forecasting and large orders.
- Communicate product availability as needed.
- Maintain purchasing records and pricing lists.
- Track costs and identify savings opportunities.
Purchasing Manager Requirements And Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain, preference given to candidates who pose industry experience.
- Proficiency working with WMS (Warehouse Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
- Experience with DDI ERP System (Highly Preferred).
- Strong negotiation, organization, and communication skills.
- Able to multi-task, working on multiple orders and shipments.
- A self-starter mentality.
- Open to constructive feedback and suggestions.
- Proficiency with purchasing or inventory software; Excel helpful.
