Purchasing Logistics Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Create and process purchase orders through the company's ERP system based on customer demand and inventory requirements.
• Manage assigned purchase orders from creation through delivery, including tracking order status, communicating updates, and resolving issues that could impact timelines.
• Partner with suppliers and internal quality teams to ensure materials meet required specifications and all necessary documentation is received before delivery.
• Cook up shipments with transportation carriers and freight providers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Aid in international purchasing activities, including import logistics, customs documentation, and tracking applicable tariffs.
• Maintain supplier pricing and communicate significant cost changes to internal stakeholders.
• Support vendor negotiations related to pricing, lead times, and shipping terms.
• Collaborate with procurement, logistics, quality, and customer support teams to proactively resolve supply chain challenges.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while delivering a high level of professionalism and customer service.
• Perform additional purchasing and supply chain duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, military experience, or equivalent professional experience.
• 1–2+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory planning, logistics, customer service, project management, or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Positive attitude with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Pay

$65,000-80,000 salary

This is an on site role near New Haven, CT (with potential for a hybrid schedule after successful onboarding and training).
