About the Role
A Purchasing Expeditor is responsible for expediting delivery of materials necessary to support MRP requirements. The role also supports buyers by managing Push/Pull/Cancel requirements, confirming order commits, resolving invoice discrepancies, addressing past due purchase orders, handling non-conforming receipts, and managing the return of material in the MRB/RTV cages.
Responsibilities
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet MRP need date requirements.
- Reconcile past due purchase orders with suppliers and take corrective action as needed.
- Update purchase orders through data entry.
- Contact suppliers to obtain product/service details such as price, lead times, minimum order quantities, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Expedite and confirm receipt of purchase orders to ensure timely release of work orders to the Stockroom for kit picking.
- Secure tracking information, confirm delivery details, and communicate updates.
- Use MRP actions to manage inbound receipts and ensure on-time delivery of materials to support work order and production requirements.
- Support buyers in resolving supplier invoice issues and coordinate with Shared Services (Accounts Payable) to ensure timely supplier payments.
- Assist buyers in clearing non-conforming receipts by investigating root causes, defining problems, and taking corrective action.
- Secure RMAs from suppliers and coordinate the return of discrepant material, updating purchase orders as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in a related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Enthusiastic, willing to learn, and flexible.
