Purchasing Coordinator - Empire Homes

About the role

The Purchasing Coordinator plays a critical role in managing the procurement process for a home builder by ensuring accurate and timely release, adjustment, and reconciliation of purchase orders. This position supports efficient project execution by maintaining seamless communication between vendors, construction teams, and internal systems like BuildPro and NewStar. This role is located on site in the Houston, TX division office.

What We Are Looking For

High school diploma; bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred. 2+ years of homebuilding and/or construction related experience. Excellent verbal and written communication; demonstrated ability to collaborate and manage relationships; exceptional organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Release and manage purchase orders (POs) for new home starts and warranty-related work, ensuring accurate syncing into BuildPro.
• Process job site reviews completed by construction managers, ensuring accurate entry of information into the system for new home starts.
• Adjust PO pricing as needed to reflect accurate costs and project requirements.
• Perform monthly job accruals and maintain detailed records for financial reporting.
• Support seamless communication between vendors, construction teams, and internal departments.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing workflows and ensure efficiency in procurement processes.
