Purchasing Agent - Waste Gas Fabricating Co., Inc.

About the role

Waste Gas Fabricating Co., Inc. is an Employee Owned and Operated premier steel fabrication and manufacturing company. In business since 1976, our 100,000 square foot facility is located in Fairless Hills, PA. We are currently looking for an experienced Purchasing Agent to add to our team. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely purchasing of specific products as required in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost reduction initiatives when purchasing needed products for daily operations
• Expedite delivery of purchased parts and maintain accurate bill of material, item, and vendor master records
• Manage supplier improvement efforts and evaluate supplier performance
• Analyze inventory levels to determine efficient purchasing on a monthly basis
• Plan and release purchase orders in support of the production plan
• Drive strategic supplier selection to ensure best-in-class suppliers are capable of supporting product programs
• Perform monthly inventory and provide accurate reports for month end closings
• Perform other related duties as requested

Requirements

• 5+ years of related Purchasing experience
• Steel industry knowledge is required; experience in the steel industry is essential
• Supplier and Vendor management
• Inventory knowledge
• Work with Production and Operations Teams to plan future and ongoing projects and have the supplies in-house in a timely manner
• Reporting for End of Month
• Ability to work in a very deadline driven environment
