Job Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate hard costs and pricing for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with Division goals
- Establish and maintain effective sourcing and category management programs
- Manage Scopes of Work with internal teams and trade partners to drive efficiency and quality; coordinate with the National Category Management Team
- Address warranty issues and oversee Curated Programs with Preferred Partners
- Support plan updates and redline changes, participating in new floor plan and lot-specific walks to improve design and value
- Oversee the full bid process, ensuring proposals are complete, accurate, and competitive
- Negotiate contracts and model discounts to secure optimal pricing and performance
- Report category pricing and bid results to Regional and National Teams, providing recommendations for approval
Qualifications
- 2 or more years in residential construction operations or purchasing preferred
- Excellent negotiation skills with demonstrated success in this area
- Track record of building great partnerships with vendors and internal team members
- Strong math and MS Excel computer skills are essential; exposure to JD Edwards beneficial
- An ideal candidate will also possess the following intangibles: naturally curious, self-directed, adaptable to change, disciplined work habits, good organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related equivalent experience
