Job Summary
The Purchasing Administrator assists the Purchasing Department with administrative work. This includes sending out RFQs for bids, preparing data packages for RFQs, sending out Open Order Reports to suppliers, highlighting problem areas, liaising with planners to control scheduling of parts, reviewing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)/Withhold tags, updating suppliers with engineering changes and drawings, and completing projects as assigned.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
- Send out RFQ for bids
- Prepare data packages for RFQ
- Send out Open Order Reports to Suppliers
- Highlight any problem areas and reports to Procurement Team Leader
- Generate effective communication, good relationships, and a positive image with suppliers and co-workers promoting courtesy, objectivity and fairness
- Liaise with planners to control scheduling of parts to ensure stock levels meet demands while staying within stock level buffers
- Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)/Withhold tags written against suppliers and relay such information to them with corrective action
- Update suppliers with engineering changes and drawings
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned
Education
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Bachelor’s degree is desired
Experience
- Position may be filled with both entry level and experienced candidates
Supervision Provided to the Position
- Direction with necessary guidance is provided in terms of tasks and craftsmanship
- Measured based upon how well tasks have been completed
- Receives detailed instructions as needed

- Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives
Language Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
