Purchaser

Responsibilities

• Procure inventory, materials, and supplies in alignment with demand, budget considerations, and operational priorities.
• Track stock levels and purchasing activity to help maintain appropriate inventory while reducing excess or shortages.
• Build productive partnerships with vendors and lead discussions around cost, order terms, and delivery expectations.
• Review supplier service levels and address concerns involving fulfillment, product quality, or shipping timelines.
• Evaluate purchasing patterns and cost data to identify opportunities for savings and improved buying decisions.
• Maintain and revise vendor pricing files to ensure product costs remain current and accurately reflected across records.
• Share pricing updates with sales, finance, and operations teams so downstream processes remain informed and consistent.
• Research market movement, competitor pricing, and cost changes to support informed pricing recommendations.
• Perform routine data checks and record maintenance to preserve accuracy and reliability within purchasing and pricing systems.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain work, ideally within wholesale distribution.
• Hands-on experience managing price lists, product data, or other high-volume purchasing records.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Proficiency with Epicor, Microsoft Excel, and related data management tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Analytical ability to interpret pricing information, purchasing trends, and market conditions.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
