We are looking for a Purchaser to join a fast-moving, entrepreneurial organization in Collierville, Tennessee, with the flexibility to work remotely. About the role
The ideal candidate brings experience with consumer products in the knife or outdoor market and is comfortable working across merchandising, marketing, and purchasing activities.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to support product availability, performance, and long-term partnership success.
- Review product assortment, market positioning, and pricing to help guide purchasing and merchandising decisions.
- Work closely with marketing teams to support recurring promotional campaigns and identify items suited for featured placement.
- Assess product mix and recommend adjustments that improve sales potential, competitiveness, and customer appeal.
- Research the outdoor and knife markets to identify emerging trends, new product opportunities, and potential vendor additions.
- Present recommendations for new suppliers and products that align with company strategy and customer demand.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams on initiatives that support merchandising goals and broader business priorities.
- Contribute to promotional planning and purchasing strategies that improve product visibility and commercial performance.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, merchandising, or another product-focused role.
- Working knowledge of the knife industry or broader outdoor products market is required.
- Background in supplier coordination, purchasing activities, or vendor management within a consumer products environment.
- Ability to evaluate pricing, product selection, and promotional opportunities using sound business judgment.
- Comfortable collaborating with marketing, leadership, and other internal stakeholders in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated adaptability and a willingness to contribute in a collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment.
