Pupil Support Assistant

Salary Range/Hourly Rate: Per Paraprofessional Contract: LV IV Step:1. Start date: August 31, 2026.

Schedule

6.5 hours per day, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.

About the Role

Instructional paraprofessional to help with reading interventions in the classroom at the direction of the teacher. Position will work in grades 6–8 at Mariner Middle School, providing these interventions. Performs intermediate human-support work delivering alternative education and basic-skills instructional services in reading, motivating students to develop skills in assigned subject matters while supporting appropriate conduct, speech, and attire. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the teacher.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must hold AA/AS degree, or have completed 60 semester credits, or pass the MN Parapro test.
• Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire.
• Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6–12 months upon hire as needed for program.
• Valid driver’s license in the State of Minnesota.
