Punch Press Operator #2

About the Role

Perform production work on a variety of machines including NC/CNC machines, loading and unloading parts, and inspecting parts to ensure quality. Must be able to make tool offsets in the machine control to maintain tolerances on the parts being produced. This role offers the opportunity to acquire skills necessary to advance to the Machine Shop Operator #1 classification.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints to produce parts within required tolerances.
• Ensure the quality of produced parts through first-piece and subsequent inspections.
• Perform routine maintenance and maintain a clean and neat work area.
• Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
• Maintain simple reports on productivity, quality, and safety.

Requirements

• Ability to use micrometers and dial calipers to ensure part quality.
• Possess all required tools to perform job functions.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs frequently.
• Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
• Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment properly.
