About the role

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located remote from your home office, you will be working hands-on with our engineering customers in the field, recommending products that fit into their applications for our First Fit Market. You'll collaborate with a variety of internal groups such as Sales, Business Development, Product Line Management, and Technical, as well as directly with customers. This role focuses on customers providing services and infrastructure support to data centers in this growing market, with opportunities to research emerging technology and applications to keep Gates ahead of market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to customers and clients in the proper application and selection of data center products in our Industrial Replacement Market.
  • Work with Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) contractors to determine application requirements, select components, and make recommendations to meet system requirements for data centers.
  • Effectively present technical material and collaborate with internal and external customers.
  • Work cooperatively with North American Field Sales, Product Line Managers, and Marketing teams to achieve organizational success.
  • Research emerging technology and applications in the data center market to ensure Gates stays ahead of trends.
  • Maintain and generate product application literature, media, and technical articles.
  • Travel to customers, plants, and conferences as required (minimum 30%).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 5+ years of progressive engineering experience (required).
  • Mechanical Engineering degree (preferred).
  • Experience in HVAC or MEP industry (a plus).
  • Engineering discipline with a focus on Mechanical, Thermodynamics, or Fluid Power systems (preferred).
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage customer personalities effectively.
  • Eagerness to work hands-on with customers, engineers, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $117,000 - $129,000
