About the Role
As a Pulmonary Rehab Technician Certified PRN with Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, you will observe telemetry monitors, document heart rhythm changes, and alert the charge Respiratory Therapist of any abnormalities. You will assist patients with exercise equipment, stock refreshments, and continuously monitor heart rhythm, blood pressure, and Spo2 levels. You will also instruct patients on equipment use, ensure patient observation coverage, and adhere to hospital policies and safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Observe telemetry monitors and record changes in heart rhythms.
- Alert the charge Respiratory Therapist of any changes in heart rhythms.
- Assist patients with the operation of exercise equipment.
- Stock refreshments for patients.
- Continuously monitor heart rhythm, blood pressure, and Spo2 levels.
- Notify the charge person of any changes in patient condition.
- Post rhythm strips on each patient’s Phase II chart.
- Instruct patients on equipment use.
- Ensure patient observation coverage when leaving the exercise area.
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety practices, and the Code of Ethics.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date).
- Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner (RRT/RCP-State) certification.
