About the role
Performs full range of pulmonary function tests, participates in polysomnographic studies, conducts shunt studies, sets up and calibrates equipment, performs quality control tests, prioritizes patients and samples, and verifies sample correspondence.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience performing respiratory and/or pulmonary procedures, including one year of experience performing at the level of a Pulmonary Physiology Technician I.
- A California State Respiratory Care Practitioner's License issued by the Respiratory Care Board of California.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation.
Specialty Requirements
- If assigned to a Sleep Laboratory, a current credential in one of the following areas is required: RPSGT, RST, CPFT, RPFT, CRT, RRT.
Desirable Qualification
- Additional years of experience at the level of Pulmonary Physiology Technologist I.
Special Requirement Information
- Pulmonary Physiology Technologist I in the County of Los Angeles is defined as: Performs standard diagnostic pulmonary function examinations to measure basic breathing capacities and lung volume of adult and pediatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Eligibility and Vacancy Information
- Applicants who passed the assessment are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months.
- We will use this list to fill vacancies in the DHS as they occur.

- Available Shift: Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
