About the role

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, inspection, and operation of equipment and machinery used in the processing of meat products. You will follow standard operating procedures, complete production-related paperwork, and ensure product specifications are met.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential production tasks to deliver safe, high-quality food.
• Support coworkers and maintain a positive work environment.
• Operate hand tools, knives, machinery, and other equipment to process meat products.
• Work scheduled shifts and overtime as required by production demands.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Complete tasks requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching, and flexing arms.
• Stand on concrete or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift.
• Work in cold (20-40°F) or warm (over 100°F) environments, as well as wet and humid conditions.
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, hearing/eye protection, and steel-toed safety shoes.
• Work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals and around strong smells/odors.
• Climb or move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms.
• Bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift.
• Walk long distances.
• Perform repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs and single lifting of heavy objects up to 60 lbs, with or without mechanical assistance.
• May require certification to operate specific equipment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts.
• Ability to work with a knife (if trained).
• Ability to work in a noisy environment.
