Public Works Project Manager

A well-established General Contractor in Southern California is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. The company has a strong track record delivering public works, education, K-12, and DSA-regulated projects throughout Southern California. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager looking to take ownership of high-quality projects while working with an established and respected contractor.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from preconstruction through final completion
• Take overall responsibility for project budget, schedule, and profitability
• Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
• Manage project documentation, contracts, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
• Review plans, specifications, and project requirements
• Develop and maintain project schedules
• Monitor project costs and financial performance
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong client relationships
• Coordinate closely with Superintendents and field teams
• Identify and resolve project issues and potential delays
• Ensure projects comply with contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation
• Support estimating and preconstruction activities when required
• Ensure successful project closeout and turnover

Requirements

• 5+ years of construction project management experience
• Experience working for a General Contractor
• Strong experience with public works and/or education construction
• DSA experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing projects from start to finish
