Public Works Laborer - CDL
About the role
The Public Works Laborer position includes a variety of semi-skilled and skilled level work in the maintenance of trees and public landscapes, repair and maintenance of streets and sewers, maintenance of public property, and minor carpentry and construction tasks. The position is also responsible for the collection of refuse and bulk items and for the safe operation of vehicles and equipment used in all tasks.
Reporting structure
The Public Works Laborer will report to the Arborist, Operations Manager, or Refuse and Organics Manager and receives daily work assignments and responsibilities from a Public Works Foreman.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School education
- Some previous work experience in the care of trees
- Must obtain Confined Space Certification within 12 months
- Must obtain Work Zone Traffic Control Training within 12 months
- Must obtain a Class B commercial driver's license (with tanker endorsement and without air brake restriction) within four (4) months of employment
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
Pay & Benefits
Starting hourly rate: $23.49
