About the role
The City of LeClaire, Iowa, is now accepting applications for a FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS INFRASTRUCTURE INSPECTOR position.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, evaluate and document the construction, maintenance, and condition of public works infrastructure projects, including streets, sidewalks, bridges, utilities, drainage systems, and other municipal assets.
- Ensure that all work complies with construction standards including SUDAS, stormwater drainage requirements, design specifications, and safety regulations.
- Perform a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled maintenance work and operate a variety of equipment in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of City sewer, street, storm drainage, parks, and other public facilities, systems, equipment, and structures.
- Clean sewers and intakes.
- Apply and tamp patching materials to pavement holes.
- Spread gravel.
- Load and unload materials and equipment.
- Operate a snow plow.
- Spread sand and salt on road surfaces.
- Operate vehicles from pick-up trucks to tractors as required.
- Mow weeds and grass in the right-of-way and parks.
- Raise and lower manholes and perform the masonry work involved.
- Build simple forms and perform various concrete work.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL driver's license required.
Pay & benefits
- Starting wage is $26.63 per hour.
- Actual wage scale commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Eligible for wage increases after six months if applicable.
