Public Works Construction Associate Attorney

About the role
We have an immediate opening for an attorney with advisory and litigation experience focusing on public works construction. This position requires extensive document reviews, including interpretation of technical matters, and may be based in any office. Candidates must be licensed in California.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and respond to routine contracting questions and disputes
- Attend legislative body meetings
- Handle public contracting requirements, contract negotiation, drafting and review
- Address federal funding requirements, bid protests, surety/bond issues, insurance issues, and government code claims
Requirements
- 3-5 years of advisory and litigation experience in public works construction
- Licensed to practice law in California
Qualifications
- Engineering, architecture, or construction management degree and/or extensive experience in construction is a plus
- Proficiency in public contracting, contract negotiation, drafting, and review
- Experience with federal funding requirements, bid protests, surety/bond issues, insurance issues, and government code claims
Pay
The reasonably expected pay scale for this position is $127,500 - $185,000. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.
