Public Sector Finance Consultants (BT Summer Intern Conversions Only)

About the role

As a Consultant at Baker Tilly, you will be a value architect playing an integral role in many types of client engagements and will help provide objective analysis, planning and creative solutions for all types of projects within the Public Sector industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist public sector entities of all types to evaluate financial and operational risks and provide recommendations to enhance internal controls and the internal control environment
• Perform internal audit testing and/or analysis aligned to an audit program and develop clear and concise workpapers to support audit findings/conclusions
• Assist in the analysis of the organization's strategy, organizational structure, and operations
• Learn and grow from direct on-the-job coaching and mentoring along with participating in firm wide learning and development programs
• Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients
• Build friendships and strong work relationships while gaining valuable experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Master of Public Policy, Master of Public Administration, or a similar technical degree, preferred
• Outstanding academic performance required, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
• Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization
• The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel
• Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving
• Organizational and analytical skills, initiative, adaptability
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• There is currently no immigration sponsorship available for this position
• Must be a current Summer 2026 Baker Tilly Intern

Pay

The pay rate range for this position is $62,000 – $90,840. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
