Public Safety Officer Per Diem

Job Summary

Public Safety Officers serve as front line guardians to the Hartford HealthCare Community by providing customer service and ensuring our environments are safe, secure and more prepared for all of our patients, visitors, colleagues, clinicians, and physicians. Public Safety Officers are equipped to prevent hazardous situations with their presence, respond and manage hazardous and emergency situations and provide support and resources when situations are successfully managed.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of relevant experience (public safety, corrections, emergency medical services, military) required.
• A high school diploma/GED required.
• A valid driver’s license required.
• A valid CT Guard Card required.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required.
• Two (2) years of relevant experience preferred.
• Basic First Aid and CPR preferred.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) preferred.
• Multilingual preferred.
• Ability to exercise discretion and use good judgment to perform duties promptly and consistently with little direction based on the current circumstances.
• Focused on providing an exceptional experience to our patients, customers, staff, organizations, and internal and external partners.
• Ability to analyze and solve a variety of difficult situations, problem events, emergencies.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle tasks independently.
• Basic to intermediate computer and technology skills, electronic tools and resources.
