Public Safety Officer I

About the role

The Public Safety Officer at Mercy is responsible for providing fire, safety, and security support to protect Mercy's coworkers, patients, and visitors. This role involves maintaining a visible presence across Mercy properties, enforcing safety and security policies, responding to alarms and emergency situations, and assisting clinical staff and guests as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible presence across Mercy properties
• Enforce safety and security policies
• Respond to alarms and emergency situations
• Assist clinical staff and guests as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 18 years of age or older
• Valid State drivers license
• Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required (within 30 days of hire)
• Passing score on Functional Job Screening
• Complete Basic 16hr Public Safety/Security course within 90 days of hire (May be done as part of licensure)

Preferred Qualifications

• College degree
• Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required
• Previous Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience
