About the role
The Public Safety Officer at Mercy is responsible for providing fire, safety, and security support to protect Mercy's coworkers, patients, and visitors. This role involves maintaining a visible presence across Mercy properties, enforcing safety and security policies, responding to alarms and emergency situations, and assisting clinical staff and guests as needed.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid State drivers license
- Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required (within 30 days of hire)
- Passing score on Functional Job Screening
- Complete Basic 16hr Public Safety/Security course within 90 days of hire (May be done as part of licensure)
Preferred Qualifications
- College degree
- Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required
- Previous Security, Military or Law Enforcement experience
