Public Relations Representative

About the role

The Public Relations Representative (known at Lifesteps as a Community Relations Rep) serves as the face of the organization, strengthening donor relationships and helping the agency achieve its fundraising goals. The role involves coordinating special events and fundraisers, managing donor communications, engaging with media, and representing Lifesteps at community events.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate special events and fundraisers, handling planning, logistics, and outreach to current and prospective donors.
• Maintain donor files in a database, generate reports, and create/process donation acknowledgements and thank‑you letters.
• Engage with media to promote Lifesteps’ mission and activities.
• Represent the agency at community events, expos, and fairs.
• Assist with volunteer engagement and coordination.
• Provide agency photography and historical documentation as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, non‑profit development, communications, fundraising, or public relations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Current, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; ability to travel using personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement possible).

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.

Schedule

Full‑time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, working daily in the Butler, PA office.
