Public Relations Manager
About the role
The PR Manager, Americas region, is a key member of the global Fujitsu PR team which reports into the Head of International PR in our headquarters organization in Japan. We are responsible for contributing to the overall success of Fujitsu by playing a critical role in shaping public perception of the business by pro-actively managing promotional activity and effectively managing communications in crisis situations. We build and maintain relationships with stakeholders internally and externally to support Fujitsu and shape its image with customers and in the wider market.
Responsibilities
- Support the leadership teams of our group companies in the Americas in achieving their business and communications goals through PR activity in the Americas.
- Develop, plan and execute impactful PR strategies for the Americas region, in alignment with the wider global strategies and priorities.
- Initiate, plan and coordinate PR plans, guidance, and key messages to targeted audiences, revising and enhancing the plans to reflect changing conditions.
- Liaise with corporate communications colleagues, including PR, globally, as well as colleagues in relevant organizations, to share information and best practice and coordinate activity to achieve maximum positive impact.
- Create and develop PR content both proactively and reactively by developing a network of contacts within Fujitsu to find stories, identify opportunities and craft compelling press releases.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists and act as the key point of contact for all media enquires in the Americas region.
- Provide media training to senior leaders and other colleagues as required and monitor trends, coverage and industry news to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- When utilizing external PR agencies, manage their support to maximize their value to the business.
- Ensure that all PR activity is brand compliant and contributes to the protection and enhancement of Fujitsu’s corporate values, reputation, and relationships with key stakeholders.
Requirements
Have experience of managing PR activity, including crisis communication and reputation management.
Able to handle sensitive situations and provide honest and candid advice to leaders from a PR perspective.
Able to influence and engage at all levels in order to plan and deliver impactful PR activity.
Able to translate complex information into clear and engaging PR content that resonates with target audiences.
Able to identify stories to drive coverage which supports the delivery of business objectives.
Demonstrate a good understanding of relevant media and other external communications channels.
Educated to a degree level and/or have relevant skills and knowledge.
Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
Used to working with MS Office tools and M365 apps.
Culturally aware and understand the nuances of communicating to employees from different backgrounds.
Used to working in a Japanese business context.
Skills
A strong interest in Japanese culture and language is a plus.

Pay
The pay range for this role is estimated at $99,470 to $143,237 USD.
This role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
