Public Relations Associate, B2B Tech

About the role
Public relations associates (PRAs) are an integral role across multiple client accounts and provide guidance for graduate associates (GAs). PRAs are hands-on team members with an understanding of the fundamentals of public relations. They are strong communicators committed to actively developing their account management skills. In this role, you will provide exceptional and consistent work for both the agency and the clients we work with. PRAs shadow all members of our PR teams, attend internal and client meetings, compile media databases, and assist with creative strategy.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for JAE, AEs and SAEs across all client accounts
- Execute and demonstrate Method’s Concierge Service Delivery Approach to your clients and teams
- Understand key client information including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors
- Research, outline, write, edit and proofread materials, including media briefing, pitch emails, biographies, reports and fact sheets
- Manage deadlines and oversee client speaking and award trackers, drafting speaking and awards submissions
- Monitor and evaluate a wide range of reporters and publications in order to provide insight on media trends to internal stakeholders
- Create coverage reports, build briefing documents, develop media pitches and contribute to pitching efforts
- Coordinate projects and events including inviting media, preparing press kits, attending events, and preparing reports
- Build a network of traditional and online media contacts
- Participate in new business opportunities across multiple industry landscapes
- Develop personal leadership skills and demonstrate PR knowledge
- Discover what tools are available, what Method has to offer
- Strengthen your knowledge of the intersection between marketing and PR
- Learn how to use social media and analytics effectively for clients
- Record and submit time and expenses on a timely basis
- Act as a mentor to graduate associates, identify goals and provide guidance and feedback on performance
Requirements
- Typically 12+ months agency and/or in-house communications or marketing teams experience or the successful completion of an internship, preferably in technology-focused PR
- Interest in pursuing a career in technology-focused public relations
- Familiarity with Google Drive and Google’s suite of tools (e.g., Slides, Docs, Sheets)
- Basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
- Excellent time management, project management and organizational skills
- Intermediate written, visual and verbal communication skills

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000. Final compensation will be determined by a number of factors including candidate’s education, relevant work experience and geographic location.
Schedule
The role can be performed hybrid (2x/week) for those based in San Francisco, New York City, Salt Lake City, or Boston.
