Public Policy Expert

Overview

Handshake is seeking experienced Public Policy PhDs to support AI research through flexible, hourly contract work. This is not a traditional public policy research or academic role. Instead, you'll apply your expertise in public policy, governance, regulation, and policy analysis to evaluate AI-generated content, provide structured feedback, and help improve how AI understands complex policy issues, public institutions, and evidence-based decision-making. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity that can be done alongside your primary employment.

Qualifications

• A PhD (completed or in progress) in Public Policy or a closely related field
• Strong analytical and research skills, with experience evaluating complex policy issues
• Experience conducting policy analysis, interpreting research, or developing evidence-based recommendations
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and follow detailed project guidelines
