About the role
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Public Leadership and Administration Graduate Adjunct Instructor for the academic year 2026-2027. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching on the UNT Dallas campus and assist in further developing the Public Leadership and Administration Graduate Program.
Responsibilities
- Plans classes and implements and evaluates teaching/learning objectives and student learning outcomes.
- Undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours on campus.
- Teaches graduate Public Leadership and Administration courses matching the instructor’s background, education, and skills base.
- Provides instruction in a full range of graduate level face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses focused on public administration.
- May be required to use certain texts and meet certain parameters set by the Public Leadership program and be on campus for face-to-face and hybrid courses, as well as office hours.
- Compiles data on student assessment criteria included in courses.
Requirements
- A PhD in Public Administration or Public Affairs with outstanding teaching experience in teaching graduate level courses.
- Strong teaching skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
- Successful career in public service.
- Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
