Public Health Registered Nurse
Job Responsibilities
Identify and address the health needs of high-risk populations by developing and implementing targeted interventions based on population needs and available resources.
Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives.
Provide treatment, administer medications and vaccines, and deliver preventive and maintenance care to patients and families in accordance with care plans and/or physician treatment plans.
Screens and refers clients to appropriate community service providers.
Participate in drills and exercises related to pandemic influenza, mass sheltering, and mass dispensing.
Participate in the planning, organization, and evaluation of program areas to ensure program goals and objectives are met.
Provide clinical services to target populations.
Apply population health principles to promote health, prevent disease, and improve health outcomes.
Provide healthcare, first aid, immunizations, and assistance with convalescence and rehabilitation.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ healthcare needs.
Conduct community needs assessments.
Develop comprehensive plans of care for individuals, families, and populations.
Modify client treatment plans based on client responses and changing health conditions.
Provide health education, instructions, and classes to individuals and families to promote and maintain health.
Cookordination program services with healthcare providers, community organizations, and other service partners to support effective implementation.
Develop and sustain community partnerships.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of nursing experience and completion of a PHN course within one year of hire
- Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
- CPR certification
- One (1) year of experience at the lower-level PH Registered Nurse 1 (HCP190) or position equivalent
