Job Duties
- Frequent communication and collaboration with Division programs, the DHHS regulations team, and the state Board of Health to ensure regulations are approved through all appropriate channels.
- Build relationships with the State Board of Health, DHHS DPH Occupational Licensure Program Managers, and a variety of external stakeholders to support the credentialing review process.
- Coordinating processes, guiding healthcare professionals and members of the public through the legislatively defined process, and drafting reports and recommendations throughout the credentialing review process.
- Support an ongoing review of the existing process and work with internal and external stakeholders to make recommendations and revise the process as necessary.
- Developing written guidance, policies, and procedures to govern the credentialing review process.
- Work closely with local health departments, providing technical expertise in carrying out core public health functions and helping to coordinate the dissemination of materials to local public health departments. This includes sub-recipient monitoring to ensure appropriate and efficient use of funds, receiving and reviewing the legislatively required local health department annual reports, and ensuring regular and consistent communication with local health departments.
- Support the ongoing ARPA Nursing Scholarship program including reviewing applications, determining eligibility of applicants, gathering required information from, and frequent communication with students and school administrators throughout the process.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent coursework/training, in public administration, social/behavioral sciences, healthcare, human services or other program related field. Professional experience working in a human/social service or health care agency with responsibility for planning or evaluation services, programs or operational policies and practices may substitute in lieu of the educational requirement.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field. Experience working with public health departments, health policy, legislation, and/or regulations would be helpful. Experience in health policy and procedure development and process mapping is also a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of process mapping or improvement and policy development.
- Ability to review written guidance or legislation and use that guidance/legislation to develop written policies and procedures to help inform program processes.
- Attention to detail and strong communication skills are helpful.
