Public Health Nurse (PHN)

About the role

The County of Yuba is seeking a Public Health Nurse and a Public Health Nurse Intern within the Health and Human Services Department. The ideal candidate should be a licensed Public Health Nurse with strong clinical assessment and health education skills, experienced in providing preventive and community-based nursing services across diverse settings, skilled in health assessment, care coordination, health education, and disease prevention across the lifespan, and effective in communicating with individuals, families, and community groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide the full range of public health nursing services including teaching, health assessment, and counseling services in homes, clinics, schools and community centers in connection with the prevention and control of diseases and adverse health conditions.
• Perform related work as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum: Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a license as a Registered Nurse.
• Preferred: Some experience in nursing.

Qualifications

• Public Health Nurse Intern: Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a license as a Registered Nurse.
• Public Health Nurse: Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing and possession of a license as a Registered Nurse and a Public Health Nurse certificate.
